Full traceablility and control of the raw material

Import-Export J.A.Szałas developed a system of cultivation, preparation, labeling and cold storage of the purchased raw hops. We trace the origin and history of each lot of bales that comes to our premises. Such a perfectly organized traceability system matches excellently the entire supply chain of the breweries, from a hop plantation to the beer bottle.

All growers cooperating with our company are covered by full-fledged hops contracts, ensuring transaction security for both parties. Under contracts with J.A.Szałas, the grower gains many benefits.

Consulting and
agrotechnical support

In order to ensure the highest quality of raw material, the Szałas agro project was established to provide full consulting and distribution of professional products for plant nutrition and biostimulation, used for all kinds of crops, including organic ones.

Raw hops quality control

Our partner growers are obliged to comply with the rules of hop protection and the recommendations related to the technique of harvesting, drying and packing of the raw material. In order to guarantee safe collection of hops, moisture content is measured, organoleptic testing and samples are taken to analyze the α-acid content of each lot of a given variety of hops from each grower.

Traceability

From the field to the dispatch of the goods, each raw hops package is properly labeled to identify the plot, grower and variety. In addition, the harvest date and quality parameters are checked and the data are assigned to each hop lot. With these activities we are able to trace the history of each package stored in our warehouse.

Warehousing

Hops is packed in standardized, factory clean RB60 type bags, which helps to optimize the storage and transport of finished goods lots. Hops is stored in warehouses under appropriate conditions, in batches ready for transport. J.A.Szałas company assists its producers in the certification process of hops.

All of our rules help us to maintain a high level of quality and brewing suitability of the offered hops at every stage, from the field to the final product.
